That side-entry design is also why the clip occasionally springs off on its own: repeated locking and reclining of the handle works it outward until it lets go, the pin walks free, and the catch loses its grip on the handle tube.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe complaint is always the same — a handle that will not lock upright, will not stay reclined, or has gone sloppy at the pivot — and a new clip restores a positive latch in a couple of minutes.
