Textured rubber ribs run across the face of 1492WS, and they are the reason it clears a couch that plain suction leaves furry. Hair that has been trodden and twisted down into upholstery weave sits below the airstream where no amount of vacuum pressure will reach it; drawing these strips over the surface teases the strands loose so the machine can carry them off. The cuff on this nozzle measures 1 1/4 in., and the 1766ST adapter is required to join it to a SEBO wand.

Technique counts for more here than with a plain fabric tool. Work in one direction rather than scrubbing back and forth, let the ribs gather the hair into a roll at the end of each stroke, then lift that roll into the airflow. Car seats, dog beds, the edges of stair carpet and the corner of the sofa the cat has claimed are where it earns its keep.

Both materials wear. The strips are rubber and glaze over as they flatten, and once they stop gripping, the nozzle behaves like an ordinary upholstery head and the hair stays put.
