Product details

The 30-degree elbow is the shallow-angle option in a central vacuum fitting lineup, meant for a run that only needs to nudge around an obstruction rather than turn a hard corner. Part 765519W is sized to fit 2-inch central vacuum tube runs and delivers the gentlest bend available short of running the pipe dead straight.

Because the angle is shallow, pairing two of these fittings end to end produces a smooth 60-degree turn while offering less resistance to airflow than forcing one sharper elbow to do the same job, and that resistance adds up over a long horizontal run where every restriction works against the vacuum's suction. Reach for it whenever a straight section has to step sideways a little to clear a stud, a joist, or another pipe rather than change direction outright.

Setting it in place uses the same PVC-cement steps as the rest of a central vacuum system: dry-fit the section first to confirm the offset lands where it needs to, then cement the joint permanently. Because the bend is subtle, it is easy to under-correct for the offset during a dry fit, so measure the finished run length with the fitting sitting in place rather than estimating beforehand.

Having a shallow-angle fitting like this on hand alongside the standard 45 and 90-degree elbows gives an installer more flexibility on jobs that have to route around framing nobody planned around a vacuum line, which describes most retrofit work. A supply box stocked only with sharp-angle elbows forces awkward compromises that a 30-degree option sidesteps completely.
