The 353GC is a 35 ft electric central vacuum hose built in the corded configuration, with an 8 ft pigtail cord for power. Wiring runs the full length of an electric hose to drive a powered nozzle, and central vacuum makers publish that supply as 110 volts at the carpet brush, which is why the brush roll spins on hose power instead of a battery.
Corded means the power connection sits on its own pigtail, and that pigtail goes into an ordinary household outlet. The alternative, a direct-connect hose, draws current through an electrified inlet valve instead; you can spot one of those valves by the pair of small contact holes set roughly 3/8 inch apart in its face. Work out which style your system uses first, because the two ends will not substitute for each other.
Like any flexible hose, watch for cracking at the crush points near each end, a stiff or brittle jacket, or exposed wire at the cuff, all signs it is time to replace it. A 35 ft hose is the longer reach option in this line, useful for larger rooms or systems with fewer wall inlets.
