Part D223-0400 is the brushless-era replacement motor for cordless ultra-lightweight uprights, supplied with its fan attached. It is a 48V DC motor rated at 11,000 RPM and is the unit fitted to the Riccar R10CV and Simplicity S10CV.
Cordless machines run their motors from a battery pack, so a motor that draws more current than it should shortens every run time in the house before it ever fails outright. Falling suction, a rising whine from the bearings, or a machine that cuts out under load all point at the motor rather than the pack.
