This OEM vacuum motor carbon brush fits Ametek Lamb motors 114788, 114789, and 115219, the 788 and 789 series 220-volt units. The brush rides against the commutator to carry current into the spinning armature, and it measures 1-1/16 inches by 3/16 inch by 3/8 inch.
Carbon brushes are a normal wear item that shortens with use. As one wears down it loses contact with the commutator, which shows up as weak motor performance, sparking, and eventually a motor that will not start. Installing fresh brushes restores the electrical connection the motor needs to run at full power.
