Ametek Upper Motor Bearing ...

Product details
The upper bearing, part 70-7619, supports the top end of the armature shaft in Ametek Lamb three-stage motors 117500 and 117507. It sits at the fan end of the stack, and it is generally the one you hear first.
A dry upper bearing makes a motor loud in a way that is hard to ignore: a grinding or rumbling note that rises with speed and never settles into anything smooth. Left running, the shaft loses its true and starts marking the fans and the housing it runs in, at which point a bearing job has quietly become a motor job.
Press it in squarely and evenly, and do the lower bearing at the same time, since it has done exactly the same hours. With the motor open, it is also the sensible moment to look at the brushes.
