Numatic Henry Angled Hose C...

Product details

This angled hose cuff, part 216089, sized for 1-1/4 inch tubing, is the elbow-shaped fitting at the tool end of a Numatic Henry canister hose. It is listed as fitting almost all Henry canister vacuums, so this is the piece a wand or tool pushes into every time the machine is set up.

Leverage wears this fitting out, not suction. Twisting a wand or tool free instead of pulling it straight puts that stress squarely on the cuff, and over enough repetitions the plastic splits along a seam or the socket loosens inside the hose. The result is obvious once it happens: a tool comes loose partway through a room, or a thin whistle rises from the joint while the motor works hard and barely anything reaches the nozzle.

Treat this as a replacement cuff. Seat it fully into the hose end and confirm a tool snaps in without wobble before starting a cleaning session, since a cuff sitting even slightly proud will bleed air about as much as the split one being swapped out. Warming the hose end slightly before fitting the cuff helps it seat completely in cold weather, when both parts are stiffer and more prone to binding partway on. If a new cuff still feels loose once it is home, the hose end itself has stretched and is the next thing to look at.
