The catch holding the bag door of an AIRBELT canister shut is worked every single time a bag is changed, and 8114ER renews the whole of it. The kit brings the release catch together with the axle it turns on and the spring that drives it, so nothing tired goes back into the door. The arrangement is simple and unforgiving. Spring pressure keeps the catch pushed into engagement, the axle gives it a clean pivot, and the catch pulls the cover down hard onto bag cover seal 8130 so the compartment shuts airtight. Lose tension in the spring and the catch stops snapping home; wear the axle and the catch sits at an angle to the striker. Either way the door creeps open under suction, the seal is no longer compressed evenly, and dust works out at the rim while pulling power quietly drops. A door that has to be pressed and held before it will latch, or one that pops open when the canister is lifted by its handle, is telling you the same story.
