The Flip-It hard floor cleaner pulls air out past the motor through this exhaust filter, and part 2036705 is the replacement. It belongs to the Bissell 5200 Flip-It family: 5200, 5200B, 5200H, 5200P, 5200R, the 5200W PowerEase wet and dry cleaner, the 6218, and the 7340 Flip-It Select machines including the 7340A, 7340Q and 7340R. The Total Floors 2949 wet dry vac takes the same filter.
Exhaust filters load up with the fine grit that gets past the tank, and a loaded filter is the usual reason a Flip-It sounds strained and stops picking up the way it used to. Owners often notice a musty smell on the exhaust as well, once the media has been damp a few too many times.
Changing it is a two-minute job with no tools, and worth doing before you go hunting for a suction leak somewhere else.
