The Big Green drives its brush roll from a separate motor down in the foot rather than from the suction motor, and part 2037431 is that foot motor assembly. It turns the brush through a geared belt on the 86T3 and 40M1 Big Green Clean Machines, the 10N2 commercial extractor, the BG10 and the 3288.
A dead foot motor is easily mistaken for a broken belt, because the brush stops turning while suction and spray carry on exactly as before. Noise is what separates them. A failing motor hums, smells hot, or trips out after a few minutes of work; a stripped belt makes no sound at all.
Check the belt and clear the brush ends first. A roll bound solid with carpet fiber is what overloads and kills these motors in the first place.
