Product details

The spring-loaded drum that a Bissell Rewind upright's power cord winds onto, plus the contacts that keep power flowing while it turns, is part 2032492.

Reels fail in a few recognizable ways. A cord left dangling loose instead of pulling back in, one that reels partway and then quits before its full length is stored, or one that snaps back hard enough to whip the plug across the floor, are three distinct complaints worth telling apart. Power that comes and goes as you shift or tug the cord, on the other hand, points to worn contacts rather than a weak spring, and separating the two before ordering matters, since a spring problem and a contact problem live inside the same drum but wear at different rates.

The retracting mechanism relies on a coiled spring that loses tension gradually with every pull, so a reel rarely fails all at once. It is more common to notice the cord retracting a little slower each week, or stopping just short of fully winding in, long before it stops working altogether. Catching that early slide before the spring gives out completely is the difference between a cord that stows neatly and one that gets left trailing across the floor where it can be run over.

Coverage includes the 44M3, 44M3P and 3863, the 67F8, and the 58F83, 84G9, 18M9, 18M9P, 18M9V, 18M9W and 26T5 Rewind uprights.
