Product details
Rated at 120 volts and 150 watts and shipped with its pulley already mounted, part 2241UE is the brush motor for the SEBO ET-C power head and the SEBO ELECTRONIC 370. It is the dedicated motor that turns the brush roll through the belt, entirely separate from the suction motor in the body of the machine, which is why a head can go still while the vacuum itself still pulls air normally.
A brush motor on its way out gives plenty of warning. The usual sequence runs from a scorched smell after a few minutes of use, to a casing too hot to keep a hand on, to a buzz with no rotation, and finally to a roll that runs for a while then quits until everything cools down. Before condemning it, take the belt off and turn the motor shaft by hand: a shaft that will not spin freely, or one that grinds, settles the matter. A belt that is glazed, stretched or wound with hair produces some of the same complaints for a great deal less work, and so does a roll seized in worn bearing blocks, so rule both out first.
Having the pulley fitted from new means the belt line is set on assembly, with nothing to press off the old motor and transfer across and no risk of the pulley ending up at the wrong depth on the shaft. Clear old belt debris and packed hair from the housing before the new motor goes in, dress the leads on the same routing they came off, and fit a fresh belt at the same time so the new motor is not asked to drive a stretched one. Run the head briefly on the bench and confirm the belt tracks central on the pulley.
