Part 155283 is the brush roll for the Beam Q200 power nozzle. It is the only moving part in the head that touches your carpet, and it is the one that wears out on a schedule.

Bristles work by flexing into the pile and springing back, so a roll gone short and stiff, or short and floppy, has stopped agitating even though it still turns. The signs are pet hair that stays put, pile that does not stand back up behind the nozzle, a rattly or uneven spin, and hair wrapped so tightly at the end caps that it has begun to bind them.

Change the belt when you fit a new roll. The two wear together, and a stretched belt will not drive a fresh roll at full speed. Beam Q200 nozzles only.
