Kirby Brush Roll - Avalir C...

Product details
Kirby's Avalir carries a separate carpet shampoo attachment, and part 305714G is the brush roll that turns inside it, entirely distinct from the roll that runs in the machine's main power nozzle.
Wet operation wears this roll differently than a dry vacuuming brush. Repeated contact with shampoo solution softens and splays the bristle rows, while carpet fiber picked up along the way collects at both shaft ends. Once enough has built up there, the roll starts dragging against its own bearings instead of turning cleanly with the attachment.
A softened roll spreads foam across the surface of the carpet instead of driving it down into the pile, so a job comes out looking sudsy rather than actually scrubbed no matter how much solution is used. That difference is easiest to catch by comparing a freshly cleaned patch against one worked with an older, flatter roll.
Because this brush turns only when the shampoo attachment is mounted, it is worth pulling and checking at the start of a cleaning season rather than mid-job. Roll it between two fingers first; drag or resistance at either end points to the bearings rather than the bristles themselves.
