Clearing wound hair off the roller of a SEBO 300 Mechanical begins with this light gray release. Work part 50403HGER and the roller lifts straight out of the head; drop the roller back in and the same catch holds it down while the machine runs. It is a small part that decides whether roller maintenance is a two-minute job or a fight with a screwdriver.
Two kinds of wear show up here, and they pull in opposite directions. A release cracked at its pivot, or worn round at the catch face, may refuse to let go on the first attempt — so people lever at it and break something more expensive. The other failure is worse: a catch that lets go too easily, allowing the roller to creep in its seat while the brush is under load. That puts the roller out of square, drags the belt toward one flange and wears the bristle row unevenly. A fresh release restores clean removal and a firm hold in equal measure.
