Product details

One moulding, two drawings, four machines. SEBO 5713GS is the gray black brush roller release, called out at item 114 on the AUTOMATIC X4 drawing and again at item 115 on the ESSENTIAL G4 drawing. Between them those sheets cover the AUTOMATIC X4, the AUTOMATIC X4 Boost, the ESSENTIAL G1 and the ESSENTIAL G4, and the release is the same component on all four.

Its role is to clamp the brush roller into the power head and then give it up on demand, so wound-on thread and pet hair can be trimmed off without dismantling anything. Because the lever is twisted by hand, and often with some impatience, the locking face is what gives way first. A rounded face lets the roller sit loose in its seat; the roller then drifts under load, scrubs the sole plate and drags the drive belt off centre, which is why a worn release is so often mistaken for a belt fault. The drive layout explains the connection. The motor pulley turns a short belt up to the sensor pulley, and a second belt carries drive from there to the roller, so anything that lets the roller wander shows up immediately in belt tracking and in the readings the sensor takes.

  • Fits: SEBO AUTOMATIC X4, AUTOMATIC X4 Boost, ESSENTIAL G1 and ESSENTIAL G4
  • Colour: gray black
  • Diagram positions: item 114 on the AUTOMATIC X4 drawing, item 115 on the ESSENTIAL G4 drawing
  • Duty: holds the roller in its seat, and releases it on demand
  • Sold as: one lever
  • Order number: 5713GS
  • Roller it holds: 5010AM, the 12 inch brush roller
  • Sensor assembly on the same four machines: 5464, supplied with screws and pulley
  • Pulley set: 5117/1, sensor pulley and motor pulley
  • Drive belts for this range: 5463 and 5110

A lever seized in the locked position is the complaint at the other end of the scale, and just as common on a machine that has spent years in a house with long-haired pets. Either way the fix is the same component. People arrive at this listing searching the part number, a SEBO roller release for an ESSENTIAL G4, or a gray black brush roll lock for an X4 Boost. Ships in 2–5 business days.
