Stepping on the catch is what frees a parked SEBO 300 Mechanical or SEBO 350 Mechanical so the body can drop back to the cleaning angle. Part 50331HG is that light gray pedal, sold on its own for machines where the original has stopped behaving.
Two things go wrong with it. The plastic cracks where the foot lands, or the return spring tires so the catch drags instead of snapping. Either way the upright starts leaning out of its parked position, or refuses to let go on the first press and has to be worked twice. Neither is dangerous, but both make an operator fight the machine dozens of times a shift, and the repeated stamping that follows is what finishes the pedal off. A replacement gives a crisp hold and a crisp release again.
The catch does not work alone, so if a new pedal does not fix the action look at the rest of the mechanism: support lever with spring 50438HGER, position cams 50367GS, spring 50332ER and axle with wheel 50348HGER all sit in the same area of the body. Foot pedal 50330OR, in orange, is the other pedal on these uprights and controls the machine rather than the parking angle, so check which one is broken before ordering.
