Product details

Cold air from a heater that is otherwise running normally points straight at the element. This is the ceramic-coated heating element for the Heat Smart Liberty, part LTP301.

The coating is on the element itself and it is what the heat passes through, so as the element behind it opens up the heater draws power without returning much warmth. Some units start behaving oddly at the same time, cycling on and off sooner than they used to, because the thermal picture no longer matches what the element is actually doing.

Before ordering, compare LTP301 against the element already in your Liberty. Heat Smart built both a plain 300 watt element and this ceramic-coated one, and they are not interchangeable by eye. When you fit it, unplug the heater, let it cool right down, and keep the lead routing exactly as you found it so nothing rests against the element once the housing is closed.
