Product details

Compact and TriStar canisters run power to the nozzle through the wand itself, and part 70897 is the complete wand assembly with cord for the A101 (EXL), MG1 and MG2. This is the version with the black latch.

Because the assembly carries both the airflow and the electrical path, a fault shows up two ways. Mechanically, the latch loses tension and the wand parts company with the hose mid-clean. Electrically, the nozzle stutters or dies when the wand is twisted, which means a conductor has broken near a joint. Neither is worth patching, as the cord is captive inside the tube.

Check the latch colour before you order. The black-latch version is the one listed here, and the latch is the quickest way to tell which wand your machine left the factory with. It arrives as one complete wand with the cord already fitted.
