    The contact assembly, part 56289, is the electrical connection block inside a Cen-Tec CT-24QD power nozzle. Power for the nozzle's brush motor travels down the wand and crosses at contacts like these, so everything the head does depends on that junction staying clean and tight.

    Contacts corrode, pit and lose their spring tension. The nozzle then works intermittently: the brush roll cuts out when the wand is twisted, starts only after a wiggle, or refuses to run at all while suction carries on exactly as normal. Arcing at a loose contact leaves black marks and slowly damages the wiring behind it, so it is worth catching early.

    This assembly fits the Cen-Tec CT-24QD power nozzle. Unplug the vacuum before you work on it.
