    Part B481-0005 is the trim piece that fits over the cord rewind opening on Simplicity Scout and Scout Plus canister vacuums, closing the body back up after service.

    This is a cosmetic and protective piece rather than a functional one: the vacuum still runs with it off, but leaving that opening exposed invites dust and lint into the reel and leaves the machine looking mid-repair. A cover that clips on but will not sit flush usually means a mounting tab has already broken rather than just slipped loose.
