Hoover Lower Cord Hook - UH...

Product details

The handle on these Hoover uprights carries two hooks for the cord and hose during storage, and the lower one absorbs the worst of it, since it is usually the first hook released when someone is in a hurry to start cleaning. Part 440011353 is that lower hook.

It covers a broad slice of Hoover's UH70100 and UH70800 upright families built on this same handle casting: the UH70100, UH70105, UH70106 and UH70107, the UH70800, UH70801, UH70805, UH70809, UH70810, UH70811, UH70815, UH70816 and UH70819, plus the CH53010 and CP50000. That breadth is typical for a handle-mounted hook, since Hoover reuses one handle assembly across several model numbers before retooling to a new design.

Failure most often starts as a clean break right where the hook meets the handle, the thinnest cross-section and the spot that absorbs the most leverage when the cord gets yanked off in one motion instead of unwound. A slower failure is the swivel wearing loose until the hook spins freely and stops holding a wrap at all, so the cord slides off even without being pulled.

Either failure mode ends the same way in practice: the cord lands loose on the floor near the nozzle path during a cleaning pass, which is an easy way to lose track of exactly where the cord is while pushing the machine.
