Cord Inlet - Eureka Express...

Product details
The cord inlet for the Eureka Express and Rally, part 266516. It is the collar at the point where the power cord passes into the machine body, and its job is to grip the cord and absorb the bending strain that would otherwise land on the wire itself.
Inlets crack from the cord being yanked out of the wall socket by the lead, which is the usual cause, and once the plastic has split the cord flexes directly against the housing edge. What follows is chafed insulation and then the intermittent fault everyone recognizes: the machine cuts out when the cord is moved and comes back when it is wiggled.
Treat that symptom as urgent rather than annoying. Unplug the machine before working near the cord, and fit the new inlet in the original opening.
