SEBO Air Channel Cover for AUTOMATIC X7 and X8

Air leaving the fan travels along a moulded channel inside the body of an AUTOMATIC X7 or X8, and part 52115ER is the cover that closes that channel off. SEBO draws it at position 115 on the combined AUTOMATIC X7/X8 parts diagram, listed there as the cover for the air channel.

The channel only works as a duct while it is sealed. A cover that has cracked, distorted from heat, or been refitted without all of its screws lets air escape before it reaches the exhaust filter, so suction at the nozzle falls away while the motor still sounds perfectly normal. That combination — a machine that is clearly running hard but not lifting much — is what usually sends people looking past the bag and the filters to the ducting itself. Fitting the correct cover closes the duct again and puts the airflow back on its intended path.

It helps to know where in the air path you are standing. On these machines the air leaves the filter bag, passes the pre-motor microfilter (5036AM, or the HEPA version 5812ER, or the anti-odour version 5425AM), goes through the motor at position 109, then runs along this channel on its way out to the exhaust microfilter 52039RV. Any of those stages can be the actual restriction, so check the bag and filters before condemning the cover, and check the cover once they have all been ruled out.
