Length is the specification that matters here. At 17 inches this reaches along a run of baseboard, behind a radiator, down the side of theater and stadium seating or across the top of a door frame from standing height, where a short household crevice tool means crouching or moving a ladder to do the same work. Across a full commercial route that difference adds up in a way that is easy to underestimate from a product photo. Ceiling corners, vent grilles and the tops of partitions come into range from the floor, which is the difference between cleaning them on schedule and cleaning them when someone complains.
It is molded plastic and weighs about a third of a pound, so it rides on the belt or the wand for a whole shift without being noticed.
