An 11 3/4 inch bare-floor tool with natural horse hair bristles, part CT156B, for Nutone central vacuum systems and listed against the Nutone 1505. Horse hair is the traditional choice on hardwood for good reason. It is soft enough not to mark a finish and fine enough to sweep flour-grade dust into the airflow instead of pushing it around ahead of the tool.

The curved ends are what make it worth having over a plain rectangular head. They let the tool reach into a corner and follow a baseboard without the ends of the housing fouling the wall.

Replace it when the bristle row has gone flat and splayed or the sole has cracked, both of which show up as a line of dust left behind the tool. At nearly a foot wide it covers a room quickly.
