Part 1SU1000000 is the geared drive belt for the Royal RY8447 Commercial Sweeper Plus, and the same belt is listed for the Dirt Devil 084460X. Its teeth engage a toothed pulley rather than gripping by friction the way a flat or round belt does.

A toothed belt resists slipping better than a smooth one, but the teeth themselves crack and wear away with age and heat, and once enough of them are gone the roller loses speed or stops turning altogether while the motor sounds no different than usual. Carpet then comes away looking barely touched even though the machine runs exactly as it always has, which is the giveaway that the belt rather than the motor has failed. Because the wear comes on gradually rather than all at once, it is easy to blame the carpet for a while before anyone looks at the drive underneath.
