Part 1710230600 is the dirty water seal from the recovery side of Dirt Devil's Easy Steamer and Featherlite carpet extractors, the CE-6100 among them. It sits between the recovery tank and the fan housing, and it is the only thing holding suction on the dirty-water path.

When it hardens, tears or drops out of its groove, the extractor keeps spraying but stops pulling the water back up. Carpet stays soaked, the recovery tank fills slowly or not at all, and water often appears around the base of the machine. It is a common failure here because the rubber takes heat and detergent for years.

Beyond the CE6100 it covers the CE6000, CE6105, CE6200, CE6300, CE7000, CE7100C, CE7150, CE7300, CE7350 and CE7450, the Hoover FH50005, FH50010, FH50030 and FH50035, and the Royal RY7600. Seat it fully in its groove before closing the tank.
