The upper wire harness, part 1710530000, carries power down the handle to the motor and pump on Dirt Devil carpet cleaners, and it fits the CE6000, CE6100, CE6105, CE7100C and CE7150.
It is the part to suspect when a machine dies as you move it. Conductors inside the loom break where the wire flexes at the handle joint, and a broken strand touches and parts as the handle swings, so the cleaner runs, cuts out mid-pass, then runs again when you straighten up. A machine that will not start at all can have exactly the same cause.
People replace pumps and motors over this fault. The harness is the cheaper thing to rule out first, and it plugs into the existing connectors rather than needing anything spliced or soldered.
