This upper wire harness carries electrical power from the handle area down to the motor and pump in your Dirt Devil carpet cleaner. If your machine cuts out when you adjust the handle or won't power on at all, a broken wire inside the harness is often the cause. Replacing the harness is a much cheaper fix than a new machine. Part #1710530000.
