The process is mechanical rather than chemical in feel. Compound goes down over the area, the SEBO Duo brush machine drives it into the pile where the soil actually sits, or a hand brush does the same over a small patch, it is left to act, and an ordinary vacuum pass lifts it back out. Because it goes on close to dry the backing is never soaked, furniture goes back sooner, and there is no drying time to plan an evening around.
Keeping a box beside the machine is the difference between dealing with a mark now and dealing with it next month. Traffic lanes and stair edges respond best when they are treated as soon as they start to look tired, rather than left until the whole carpet needs doing at once.

One note on method: work the compound in properly rather than sprinkling it and hoping. The granules have to reach the part of the pile the dirt is sitting in, which is why SEBO sells brushes alongside the powder, and why a mark treated with a stiff brush comes up when the same mark dusted and left alone does not. Vacuum thoroughly afterwards so nothing is left behind in the carpet.
