Few mouldings on a black AUTOMATIC X4 are replaced as often as the bumper base, and 5702SW is the black one. It is the impact trim fixed across the bottom of the bag housing, drawn at item 47 of SEBO's exploded parts sheet.
The job it does is plain enough: absorb whatever a heavy upright is pushed into, whether a doorframe, a stair riser or the leg of a sofa, and give way so the shell does not have to. Once the strip has cracked through or fallen away, those knocks land on painted plastic, and light marking at the front corners soon turns into chipping. A fresh bumper puts the buffer back and smartens up a vacuum that still has plenty of service ahead of it.
