Electric telescopic wand for the Eureka CV280A and Beam AP900 central vacuum systems, part 521152. It slides to length and carries the low-voltage supply through to a power nozzle as well as the airflow.
Central vac wands take knocks on stairs and door frames. Once a tube is dented or the lock stops gripping, it creeps shut while you work and leaks air at the joint. The electrical side fails separately: worn contacts inside the wand make the nozzle brush cut in and out while suction carries on perfectly normally, which is a confusing fault until you know to look here.
Check the wand diameter against your hose and floor tools before ordering, since central vac fittings are not universal across brands.
