Carpet is where suction alone runs out of ideas, and the ET-2 is the wider of the two driven floor heads SEBO builds to make up the difference. This is the red one, part 9250AM, with the control mounted on the head itself.
A motor inside the housing turns the brush shaft, so the roller keeps combing the pile at its own steady rate instead of depending on how much air is passing through it. The size difference between the families is easy to check against a parts list: an ET-2 takes SEBO's 15-inch brush roller, listed as 2838AM with 2838GE as the soft-bristle alternative, where the smaller ET-1 takes a 12-inch roller. The rocker on top is the second thing to check, because it decides which sibling number you need. 9251AM is the same ET-2 body in black with no control on the head, meant for installations that start and stop the brush somewhere upstream; 9259AM is white with a switch and 9958AM is black with a switch.
People usually reach for a whole head rather than internals after a fall has cracked the housing, when the drive has stopped turning the roller, or when a second head is wanted so a spare hose is ready to go. If the head being replaced has a rocker on it, this is the like-for-like part in red.
