Part 778161 replaces the on/off rocker switch on the Sanitaire SC9180 commercial upright and its Eureka-badged counterpart, the Electrolux-Eureka EP9110A. Every time the handle switch is pressed, this component decides whether power reaches the motor, tying the cord side of the machine to the motor side through a single mechanical contact.
A worn switch rarely quits all at once. Watch for a machine that needs several presses before it catches, one that shuts off if the cord gets nudged, or a rocker that feels loose and no longer clicks with authority. Those symptoms point to the internal contacts wearing thin, and once a switch starts cutting power mid-shift on a commercial route, it only gets less dependable from there.
