The cyclone assembly for the Sanitaire SC5845B commercial upright is part 7153738, the molded housing section Sanitaire lists for this machine. It closes off part of the machine's shell, and it is sold under both Eureka and Sanitaire badging for the SC5845B and SC5845D.
This is a structural piece more than a wear part. It cracks from impact, usually a drop, a cart running over the machine, or the hood catching on a door frame during a shift, and once it splits, dust starts settling inside the machine instead of staying where the sealed airflow path is meant to carry it. A cracked cyclone housing also leaves the internal wiring and motor mounts exposed to whatever the vacuum is picking up.
