The rocker-style power switch for Eureka Excalibur and Lux uprights, part 27871A1. It is listed for the Electrolux-Eureka EL5035A, EL5035AZ, EL5035B and EL5035BZ, and for the EL8501F, EL8502F and EL8505F.

A rocker switch carries full motor current every time it is thrown, and the contacts inside eventually pit and burn. The signs are familiar enough: the vacuum needs the switch pressed just so before it will start, it cuts out when the handle is moved, or it keeps running after the rocker has been clicked off. Sometimes the rocker itself goes slack and no longer snaps between positions.

The switch wires in where the original sat. Unplug the machine before opening the handle housing, and photograph the wiring before disconnecting anything so the leads go back on the same terminals.
