This 12-inch red base (Part #52398-1, also referenced as 55726-1) is the lower housing that carries the brush roll, nozzle, and floor-contact components on Eureka / Sanitaire commercial upright vacuums. The base is the part that takes the most punishment on a hard-working machine, scraping against baseboards, furniture, and floor transitions until cracks or wear compromise airflow and brush alignment.
Replacing a damaged base restores the proper seal between the nozzle and the floor, which is what gives a Sanitaire upright its strong, even suction across the full 12-inch cleaning path.
