Product details
The handle release pedal on a Bernina 6100 or 6500 is what you tap with your foot to unlock the handle and lay the machine back. Evolution part 01-6601-01.
When it fails you know immediately, because the vacuum becomes useless for anything but open floor: the handle stays locked upright, it will not recline, and there is no getting under a bed or a sofa. The pedal either snaps outright or goes soft and sticky, needing two or three stamps before the handle lets go.
Fit the new pedal and the full range of motion comes back. Check the return spring and the linkage behind the pedal while it is off, because if the mechanism was stiff before the pedal broke, the pedal was the symptom rather than the cause. Confirm your model before ordering.
