Dark blue bodywork on a SEBO upright wants dark blue fittings, and 5712DB is the catch that holds the exhaust panel down. It is listed for two machines, the AUTOMATIC X4 and AUTOMATIC X5, and SEBO gives it item number 101 within the power head cover group drawn at item 100. Two lines further on, at item 103, sits the panel it grips: exhaust filter cover 5711DB in the same finish.

Think of it as a spring and a hook formed from one piece of plastic. The spring pushes, the hook bites, and the exhaust panel stays where it was put. Both features are stressed each time that bay is opened for filter service, so the hook is what eventually rounds off or snaps away. Once it has, the panel no longer draws down flat. It stands slightly proud along an edge, resonates against the body once the motor is working hard, and can free itself entirely mid-job, leaving the filter untensioned in its recess. The noise nearly always arrives first; the broken tab only turns up when the panel comes off. Catch and panel are separate lines on the drawing, so one failing does not force the other to be bought.
