Owners of the SEBO 300 Mechanical and 350 Mechanical uprights can take the exhaust stage up to true HEPA media with insert 50169ER. It drops into the same exhaust cavity as the standard S-class insert, so there is no adapter and no modification involved, and from that point on the machine breathes out through a denser medium.

HEPA media holds 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns, which covers pollen, dust mite debris and the pet dander that would otherwise ride out on the outgoing air. On an upright used in a bedroom, or in a house where somebody's symptoms follow the vacuuming around, the exhaust is the stage worth upgrading first. The pleated pack is sealed into its own frame and works as one unit.

It is not washable. Running water through a pleat pack of this kind destroys the structure that makes it work, so once the media darkens or the exhaust begins to feel restricted the insert gets replaced rather than cleaned. A typical service interval in a home is 12 to 18 months, sooner where the machine runs most days.
