The white finish of this Hayden inlet trim ring carries part 775591W and pairs with the Hayden 0652, sealing the gap at the wall around a side-opening inlet and drawing the body square into the drywall behind it.
Watch for the inlet body itself starting to shift slightly whenever a hose cuff is inserted. That movement is the clearest sign this trim ring has stopped clamping firmly, whether the cause is a cracked corner or screw bosses that have simply worked loose with age. A ring that is merely loose is still doing part of its job, while one that has broken through at a fastener has stopped doing it entirely, and the rocking motion that follows works against the inlet's own seal until a cosmetic complaint has turned into a suction one.
Swapping the ring is a screwdriver job. Shut the power unit down first, back the fasteners out, lift the old ring clear without letting the inlet body drop back into the wall cavity, then draw the new one up evenly instead of tightening one side fully before the other, which is what cracks a corner in the first place.
This trim is cut for the side-opening door style rather than the top-opening design, so match your inlet's opening type before ordering. If the plates already on your walls read closer to cream than to true white, the almond version of this same ring will blend better.
