Part 20-8605-01 is a clear Lexan replacement fan built for Sanitaire commercial and Eureka upright motors across the 200 and 2000 series, including the Sanitaire S647, S661, S663, S677, SC684, SC886 and SC887, and Eureka's C2031 series, C2094 series and C4046 series.
The fan is what generates suction, and it is the part most likely to take the hit when a coin, screw, or nail gets pulled in. Even a small chip knocks the blade out of balance, and a fan spinning off-balance at motor speed wears the bearings quickly: you feel a shake in the handle, hear the motor's pitch waver, and lose pickup for no reason visible in the bag or filter.
This fan is an aftermarket replacement, built to go in the same way as the part it replaces. Lay the hardware out in the order it comes off and put it back in that same order, and set the old and new fans side by side before fitting, since a fan seated even slightly out of true will vibrate from the first run.
