Product details

A felt seal for the Hoover 0910 dryer, part 162512. The felt sits between the moving assembly and the housing, pressed against its mating face so air is forced through the intended path instead of leaking out around the joint.

Felt does not fail suddenly — it compresses, packs down and frays over years until the barrier it forms is thinner than the gap it is meant to close. Air then whistles past it, the unit gets noisier, and output drops without anything looking obviously broken. The seal is usually black with age by the time it needs doing.

Fitting a fresh seal restores the tight barrier the unit was designed around. Scrape and wipe the mating surface clean before you press the new felt in, and make sure it sits flush all the way round with no gap at the join. Confirm the 0910 model on the data plate before ordering.
