F998 replaces the post-motor HEPA filter in the Dyson DC33, including the DC33 Multi Floor.
Of all the maintenance a DC33 needs, this is the piece most often left alone until something goes wrong. The filter takes the fine dust the cyclones cannot separate, and as it fills the machine has to work harder to push air through it. You feel that as suction fading through a job and hear it as a change in the motor's note. A saturated filter also starts putting dust back into the room instead of holding onto it.
It lifts out of the housing and the new one drops in, no tools required. Twice a year keeps a DC33 breathing properly; once a year is the least you should get away with.
