Part 73316 is the filter nut from the ProTeam ProGuard wet/dry vacuum, the threaded nut that clamps the filter down onto its plate so air has to pass through the media instead of around it.
It is a part people notice only once it is gone. Without the nut, the filter lifts off its seat under airflow, dust and water get straight past it, and on a wet/dry machine that means debris heading for the motor. A cross-threaded or split nut does the same thing, only more slowly.
It suits the ProGuard 3 gallon wet/dry vacuum and the ProGuard LI 3 Cordless, and the same nut serves as the filter plate nut on Ridgid wet/dry vacuums. Hand-tight is the right amount: enough to seat the filter flat, not so much that you distort the media or strip the thread.
