This is the flat Type R belt for the Eureka Ultra Smart upright, ordered as 18910.1. It is a plain flat belt, not a geared one, and it transfers drive from the motor shaft to the brush roll by friction alone.

That is exactly why flat belts are consumables. Rubber stretches with heat and use, tension falls away, and the belt starts to slip on the shaft under load. Long before it snaps you will smell hot rubber partway through a room, or notice the brush roll turning slowly, or not at all, while the motor runs at full speed and the carpet stays flat behind you.

A fresh belt at the correct tension puts the brush back to full speed. Fitting is tool-free on most Eureka uprights: lift the brush roll out, loop the new belt over the motor shaft and drop the roll back into its end seats.
