The flow indicator is the small window in the solution line that lets you watch cleaning solution actually moving through a Bissell ProHeat 2X. Part 2036969 replaces the whole assembly, and it is confirmed for the 9500 ProHeat 2X together with the 66Q4, 66Q42 and 73A5.
Two things go wrong with it. The body clouds over with mineral scale until nothing can be seen through it, which costs you the one quick check that tells you whether the pump is doing its job. Or the housing cracks at a barb and starts weeping solution down inside the machine.
A clear indicator earns its keep as diagnostics. When a machine sprays weakly, watching this window tells you in seconds whether the fault is upstream at the pump or downstream at the spray tips, which saves guessing at parts.
