Part 9058533 is the foam sleeve filter Shop-Vac used across a long run of its wet/dry vacuums, including the 2010, 2010A, 2015, 2015A, 3150, 3200, 3225, 4020, 4030, 4045A, 5025 and 5275, along with the 950A, 950B and 970C, and the LB, LL, LM, QAL, QAM, QAS, QL, QPL, QPS, QPV, QS, QUL, QULP, QUM and ULB series machines.
This foam sleeve goes on for wet pickup, wrapping the cage so the motor stays shielded from splash while liquid is drawn in. Foam wears differently than a paper or cartridge filter: instead of clogging, it perishes, turning brittle at the seams and splitting along the stretch points, and once it tears the motor is left unprotected during a wet job.
