The foot pedal and its spring from the NSS Pacer 15UE, supplied as a matched set, part 9697519. The pedal is the part you work with your foot; the spring is what returns it and holds it where you put it.
They fail together and they are worth replacing together. The spring loses tension long before it breaks, so the pedal starts to feel soft and stops returning cleanly, while the pedal itself cracks at the pivot from being stamped on with a work boot. Once either has gone, the mechanism sticks or will not hold, and on a machine used every day that becomes an immediate irritation for whoever is pushing it.
Look at the pivot pin and its seat while everything is apart - a worn pin will wear out a new pedal far sooner than it should.
